The land belongs to Whatcom County. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County entered into a multi year lease and use agreement with Whatcom County in the mid 1990's. The Clubs invested more than $600,000 in turning the land into a first class athletics park. The east end of the property is leased to the Whatcom Soccer Commission. The WSC has 11 soccer fields, an office, picnic area, parking and a rest room building on the site. The west end is five baseball-softball fields used by the Boys & Girls Clubs for our spring and summer programs. We also utilize field space in the fall as a football site.

The grounds for the entire site are maintained by the WSC, with the Boys & Girls Clubs caring for the infields and common areas. Tens of thousands of young athletes and adults utilize and spectate at the Northwest Sports Complex each year. We are very proud of this facility, as it adds a great deal to the quality of life in Whatcom County. Bellingham Athletic Director Abe Thalhofer and Athletic Coordinator Emily Marrs are the site managers.
